The downloadable mapping tool provided by the Mountain View company is now becoming a useful application in many domains although Google released it with a clear purpose: view and analyze satellite maps with the entire world. For example, the researchers from several countries are using the Google application to track volcanoes activity and to try avoiding dangerous moments such as eruptions. However, Google Earth might become a dangerous program especially for us, the residents of the planet because the terrorists are now turning to the application in order to organize attacks.

The first time Google Earth was involved in this kind of attempts was a long time ago when the terrorists used the downloadable application to organize attacks against the UK troops located in Basra. At that moment, the Mountain View company decided to replace the pictures with older ones captured before the departure of the army in the area.

Recently, it was reported that other terrorists were trying to assault the JFK International Airport using information gathered from Google Earth. The authorities managed to stop them before anything dangerous happened but the application raised several concerns about our protection. The US officials sustained that the Mountain View company should be opened to talks in order to require valuable information and blur several locations from the program.

Although Google Earth caused a lot of problems for the parent company and for us, it is still one of the most revolutionary applications every created. And Google wants to make it even more powerful as it improves it periodically with new features and functions able to bring more information to the users. A few weeks ago, Google quietly rolled out a new version of Google Earth that adds interoperability with Google Maps. Basically, you're able to view a certain location opened in the program straight into the window of your browser.
