Google Earth was quite popular lately as the parent company Google updated it periodically with lots of new features and goodies. Today, the search giant does the same thing again using a brand new SketchUp blog that indirectly promotes the mapping software solution. As you probably know, Google SketchUp is a 3D modeling product that can enhance the content included in Google Earth using some simple interoperability functions. The compatibility between the two products was officially included in Google SketchUp 6 when the Mountain View company said that every user can design his 3D version of streets, buildings or cities and include them in Google Earth.

The new SketchUp blog is actually a simple way to keep the fans of the service up to date with the latest news and information concerning the 3D modeling software. Just like any other blog owned by the search giant, the SketchUp blog is hosted on Blogger, the blogging service powered by the same Google.

"It's my great pleasure to announce the launch of the Official Google SketchUp Blog. Fast-breaking news, tips and tricks, user stories and just the right amount of office intrigue await anyone who pays us a visit. Check out the 3D Warehouse to see models from people all over the world, and turn on the 3D Warehouse layer in Google Earth to explore cities with realistic 3D buildings made in SketchUp (Denver is particularly impressive). If you like, you can download the free version and start building models yourself," Aidan Chopra, SketchUp Product Evangelist, wrote today on the official blog of the search giant.

The SketchUp blog was actually released a few days ago but the Mountain View company preferred to talk about it only today when the consumers can read several posts already published. Just like usual, you can download the latest version of Google SketchUp straight from Softpedia.
