Mountain View-based Internet giant Google has just announced that mobile phone users can now enjoy the features of Google Docs in a number of no less than 45 languages, including the 44 that were just added into the mix.

“Last November, we launched the ability to edit mobile docs in English. Today we’re excited to announce that you can now edit your docs on the go in 44 more languages,” the company notes in a recent blog post.

For those who might have not encountered mobile Google Docs before, we should note that it offers the possibility to view or edit Google documents, spreadsheets, presentations, as well as files uploaded to the cloud service.

Most phones that support HTML can enjoy viewing docs on the go through access to the service, but Google Docs on mobile devices can offer even more features, the company notes.

“To begin editing, visit docs.google.com in your mobile browser, and select a document to edit. Switch from view to edit mode by pressing ‘Edit’ to turn on the mobile editor and start typing away,” the said blog post continues.

“As a reminder, mobile editing is available on Android (2.2 Froyo or above) and iOS (version 3.0 or newer) devices. You can learn more about Google Docs for mobile on www.google.com/mobile.”

Android phones based on Froyo or Gingerbread, as well as tablet PCs running under Android 2.2 or higher can benefit from full support on Google Docs. iOS 3.0+ iPhone and iPad devices are also fully supported.

Devices running under older flavors of the Android operating system might also be able to access the service, though they are not fully supported, the company notes.
