When the super giant Google debuted Docs & Spreadsheets many of you said it's probably the best alternative for Microsoft Office even if it works only in online mode. On the other side, some users considered that Microsoft Office is still the king because it can be easily installed on a computer and can be accessed without an Internet connection. But what if you take Google Docs & Spreadsheets on your computer? DocSyncer does that! I'm sure you never heard of it because it's not launched yet but its developers sustain it will be something which might reduce the advantages of using Microsoft Office.

DocSyncer will be released in the upcoming weeks as a private beta based on invitations, the parent company sustaining for TechCrunch it will be first available for Windows while a Mac version might be designed in the future. Basically, the entire technology works like a synchronization utility which allows you to sync all the documents stored on your desktop with your Google Docs & Spreadsheets account. Let me detail it a little bit.

Let's suppose you have 10 documents on your desktop but you want to transfer all of them in your Docs & Spreadsheets account to access them from any location. No problem, just install DocSyncer and run it. The files are automatically copied in your Google account and, every time you modify one of them, the updated version is also copied in Docs & Spreadsheets. Pretty useful, don't you think? Moreover, once a file is uploaded in your Google account, a simple click on one of them (inside DocSyncer) will open a second Docs browser window which enables you to edit the document.

"DocSyncer is always sitting in the background, watching for new documents. When something is added, it's immediately synced up to our online viewer and Google Docs," founder Cliff Shaw said for TechCrunch.
