They just keep rolling them out

In a rush to take over the market and become the biggest office applications suite there is on the Internet, the Google Docs team is pushing hard as if they had a deadline to make it all happen. Fortunately for us, there isn't one, or else all of the updates would probably make two or three things and break just as many. It's well known that Google is pushing out products and services not yet finished.

Luckily, they started taking heed to the feedback the users are continuously presenting them with and begun working after a schedule based on utility rather than just picking things to do at random. The features added today are among the most sought after ever since Google Docs first appeared on the Internet:

1. Save as PDF, for when you really need to download your presentation as a file. 2. PDF-based printing options (save trees and ink!). Go to File->Print, select how many slides you'd like on a page (up to 12), and preview your choice. 3. Vector shapes, for your basic diagramming and drawing needs. Use block arrows to point out what's important, or say something in a call-out bubble, the Google Docs Blog informs us through Chris Nokleberg, an engineer with the team.

With the printing additions that came out last week or so and the headers and footers to "hit" your Google Documents around the same time, it looks like the first steps have been made in the right direction to world dominance. And taking into account that Google doesn't have nearly as much experience as the suite it's trying to dethrone, Microsoft's, the progress that is made in such a short time, as well as the number of users that it managed to gather, is exceptional. Keep at it!
