The virus can not be stopped

Not even Google's defenses can fight off such a virus. It pounded on Blogger and infected a lot of its sites! It's had 1000 faces and it continues to wreak havoc on the Internet. Storm has been plaguing us since the beginning of the year and it's one heck of a resilient threat. I don't think I've ever seen a virus to live so long!

In any case, the Google-owned Blogger has been overrun with Storm teasers, fact which will probably lead to even more infections. As you know, Google is a huge corporation and it has some of the greatest defenses ever, so this virus is something really tough if it cracked through their security system!

I've seen this on The Register - just Google-search this: "dude what if your wife finds this" OR "sheesh man what are you thinkin" OR "man you're insane", " site:blogspot.com" and you'll end up finding 424 infected sites. And this, while searching only these phrases, but the Storm worm uses many more of these "teasers" to make people click on links.

This is huge, if they've cracked this, who knows what they'll do next! I guess this is a famous virus now, everyone's heard about it, and I think I wrote about 4 articles on it up to now, but just in case you have been living under a rock, I'm going to tell you more about it. It infected the first sites in January, and new computers got it after more and more users clicked on links included in some spam e-mails. If you get infected, you will be part of a botnet and your PC will spam others all day long, without you even knowing it. The spam-mails contained news about storms in Europe, greeting cards, login credentials and teasers about YouTube videos, all trying to trick users into clicking on links. The thing is it really worked - close to 2 millions hosts have been infected, and the virus hasn't been stopped yet.

In any case, I found nothing on how this virus penetrated Google's security systems and the company has not commented anything on this matter just yet. I hope they disinfect these sites as soon as possible. Blogger is something huge and if an infection starts spreading there, the situation can get really critical!
