Google Calendar is an attractive product developed by the search giant that allows you to organize your events and appointments by noting them directly into the service. Although it is not so popular as Gmail or YouTube, Google Calendar owns a lot of useful functions that help you manage and organize all your important meetings. For example, one of the innovative abilities is represented by the SMS support that helps you remember an event wherever you are because Google Calendar automatically sends you a mobile message for specified notifications.

At this time, Google Calendar is not updated so often as other Google products but it's regarded as a powerful service meant to help you organize your business. The service is available for free and it is accessible through the official page with a single Google account. Although the application is not so well promoted, it seems like Google Calendar's popularity is continuously increasing as the product attracts more and more customers.

InsideGoogle posted an article on the official page to present a graph released by Hitwise and compared Google Calendar's results with the ones obtained by solutions provided by rival companies.

"Hitwise released a graph that shows Google Calendar growing at an astronomical rate, reaching the same number of visits as MSN Calendar in late December. If GCal continues its growth, it may have already topped Yahoo's Calendar to become number one in market share. Google Calendar stood, at the end of 2006 (and only 9 months on the market) at .0043% of all internet visits, above MSN's .0040% and within striking distance of Yahoo's .0051%," InsideGoogle reported in an article published on the official page.

You can view the graph published by Hitwise and compare Google, MSN and Yahoo results in the image placed under the article.
