The Mountain View company Google won the race for the acquisition of PeakStream, the company that was targeted by numerous firms such as Nvidia, Intel and Microsoft. PeakStream is a famous name among the developers because it built several tools that can improve their designing processes of new applications. Obviously, because it attracted an important number of users, the big Internet giants were also interested in buying the new and revolutionary firm, Google being the lucky name that reached its goal.

The deal was reported by The Register that sustained it couldn't obtain an official statement as the PeakStream's website and phone lines were crashed since yesterday. At this time, they are also down so no official statement. However, Google Blogoscoped sustains that Google's officials confirmed it: "Yes, Google has acquired PeakStream. Terms of the deal are not being disclosed."

According to The Register, PeakStream was also an attractive name for the investors as numerous famous names sent their capital to the company founded in 2005. Among a lot of investors, we can mention Sequoia, Caufield and Byers and even Google.

"We believe the PeakStream team's broad technical expertise can help build products and features that will benefit our users. We look forward to providing them with additional resources as they continue developing high performance applications for modern multi-core systems," Google said in a statement as the same source reported.

The Mountain View company was quite active on the acquisitions market after it managed to buy Panoramio, the firm that provides imagery for Google Earth and FeedBurner, the famous feed tracking solution. However, it seems like the search giant wants even more and tries to buy more and more as most of the companies are agreeing to join the Googleplex and revolutionize the Internet. This is another obvious sign that Google's power is unlimited and even greater than Microsoft, Nvidia and Intel.
