The Mountain View company and the New York authorities are working together to build a new technology that would bring several changes to the city's traffic, NY reportedly being the most crowded in the entire world. BigMouthMedia wrote that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is currently collaborating with the Mountain View company to create a new solution based on maps, route manager and other types of information concerning the city. According to the article, the Google officials refused to comment on the rumors but the New York authorities somehow confirmed them.

"In a telephone interview with Bloomberg, assistant executive director of New Jersey Transit Jim Redeker said: "We are always looking for ways to incorporate technology in what we do." He added that Google has "good experience at making this work". By this, he was referring to the fact that Google already provides similar guides for around 12 other cities in the US, including San Diego and Dallas," BigMouthMedia wrote.

Google is the owner of Google Maps, a web-based solution that already provides traffic information for most of the US cities. Beside this, you are also able to select and manage traffic routes in order to choose the best way to reach your destination.

Also, the Mountain View company owns Google Transit, a web-based solution that helps you organize your trip by entering the details of your route and finding out valuable details about the public transportation schedules.

"Google Transit Trip Planner enables you to enter the specifics of your trip-where you're starting, where you're ending up, what time of day you'd like to leave and/or arrive-then uses all available public transportation schedules and information to plot out the most efficient possible step-by-step itinerary. You can even compare the cost of your trip with the cost of driving the same route!" it is mentioned in the description of the product.
