Google is the king of the French search engine world

Market researcher XiTi made another study concerning the usage of the search engines in France that revealed a clear dominance of Google while the other search technologies hardly recorded 10 percent of the local users. According to the report, Google recorded 89.79 percent of the visits while other services recorded incomparable numbers: Yahoo! (3.14%), MSN (2.48%), Orange (1.89%) and Free (0.72%). In comparison with June 2007, July brought a 0.26 points increase to Google which recorded 89.79 percent of visits, growing from 89.53 points. Compared with last year's results, Google's dominance was increased with 4 points.

"AOL, Alice, Voil?, Altavista and Ask occupy the 6th to 10th places on the honors list of search engines for July 2007, in which Club Internet no longer appears following its recent buyout by Neuf Cegetel. These search engines are followed by Exalead, 9Online, Virgilio, Lycos and La Toile du Qu?bec," it is mentioned in the XiTi market research.

"After Google and its "close" competitors, it suffices to say that there remains little place for other search engines: from the 5th place (Free), the visit share is lower than 1 point, and from the 10th (Ask), it descends under the 0.1 point threshold."

Although we all know that Google is the most popular search engine on the Internet, this new market research is a little bit shocking because it shows a clear 89.79 percent holy-sh*t! dominance of the Mountain View company although its rivals are struggling to challenge it.

If you didn't see it, MSN a.k.a. Windows Live Messenger is placed on the third position with 2.30 points even if the Redmond giants Microsoft tries all kinds of moves to compete with Google. Also, Ask.com, another alternative when it comes to search engine, is placed only on the 10th position while AOL "won" the 6th level.
