This was quite a busy week at Googleplex when it comes to the storage size offered for the search giant's solution because everybody was talking about the recent program launched by Google. As you might know, the Mountain View company rolled out a new campaign that allows the interested consumers to buy additional storage space for their Google services. For example, you can buy 6 GB for $20 per year or 250 GB for $500 per year. Today, Christine Knight, Creative Maximiser (Retail, media and entertainment team), reminded that Picasa Web Albums offers you 1 GB of free storage size in order to host all your photos.

Moreover, Picasa offers even more functions such as basic editing functions like color controls, red eye remover and excellent photo management tools. But what's more important is surely the upload features that allow the consumers to publish pictures into an account and host up to 1 GB of pictures.

"Picasa Web Albums gives you 1GB of free storage to showcase and share your photos online. You can create a slideshow, map your photos to show friends where the pics were taken, set albums as public or private, and send an email to your friends with a link to your albums. Your friends can download your photos - full-size - and leave comments," the Google official reminded.

This feature of Picasa Web Albums comes as a revamp for the photo sharing service and a reply for the other similar services available on the market such as Flickr and Photobucket. However, Picasa has a lot of work to do in order to be able to fight with those two Internet giants which managed to conquer the market with numerous improvements and promotion campaigns started by the parent companies. For example, Yahoo recently closed Yahoo Photos and forced the users to migrate to Flickr because the giant portal wants to remain focused only on this photo sharing platform.
