New error messages released by Google

"We're sorry!", "Oops" or just a simple "Error" represent some of the most popular error messages displayed by Google, the most powerful search engine on the Internet. Is there anything else to say when Google returns you an "Oops" error? Probably not, but the company decided to bring a little more information attached to the error messages and released today an improved version of the notification. All of them concern Google Base, the product developed by the search giant that can allow a user to send data, files or other type of information to be indexed on Google.

The error messages displayed by Google are somehow interesting because some of them are just displaying a short phrase without any other information to resolve the issue. Take the example of "Failure" that was just informing the user that something goes wrong, but the message doesn't contain additional details to correct the problem. So, here are the updated error messages released by Google:

- Failure: Bulk upload failed. No items are live. There are too many formatting errors in your file. - Unrecognized header: We didn't understand the header (first) row of your file. Please make sure that there is one attribute name for each column and that you are using valid attribute names. - Invalid price: Price must be greater than zero (0) or left blank. -Attribute was incorrectly specified: This attribute was not correctly defined. Please check the formatting in the header (first) row.

Although the messages are designed especially for Google Base, I guess it will be a smart decision to implement it into other Google products such as Reader or Gmail that are also returning errors without any tip to resolve them. Actually, most of the Google errors are encouraging the user to refresh the page but avoid providing additional info.
