The elite British ladies stepped out in their favorite designer clothes

British celebrities put on their designer finest clothes and gathered in London's exclusive Barclay Square for the Glamour Women of the Year Awards - and, as usual, those eager for a fashion extravaganza were not disappointed. And with a guest list comprising such names as Dannii Minogue, Kelly Osbourne, three former Spice Girls, Lily Allen, Annie Lennox, Beth Ditto, Hayden Panettiere and Kate Beckinsale, everything was possible. As a result, we can now sit back, relax and devour some of the best and worst-inspired looks of the evening.

And speaking of unfortunate choices, the first name that comes to mind is Lily Allen. The singer-turned-TV-presenter came to receive the Editor's Special Choice Award from Glamour Editor Jo Elvin, although she looked less glamorous and more on the cheap side, sporting bubblegum-pink hair which she admitted had died herself a few hours before the ceremony using a home hair dye kit. Moreover, the singer wore a disturbing Giles Deacon satin prom-style dress that sported prints of a bleeding Bambi all over it and accessorized her hair with a rather unfortunate pale pink ribbon.

Following their much-hyped reunion tour, the Spice Girls received the award for Band of the Year, although only three of the five band members were present to pick it up - Emma Bunton, wearing a sparkly long black evening gown, Geri Halliwell and Melanie Brown, the latter in an eye-watering glitter-style purple, green and gold evening gown.

Kate Beckinsale gets an A plus for her choice of a purple Grecian-style gown and an overall demure look. Not the same can be said about unconventional singer Beth Ditto, who turned heads for all the wrong reasons in her unflatteringly colorful dress. On the whole, it was an evening marked by absences, with Kate Moss dissing the event, just like Victoria Beckham and her fellow former Spice band mate Mel C.
