“This is just the beginning of my revenge”

Kevin Spacey was nominated 8 times for a Golden Globe, but it wasn’t until last night’s 2015 edition that he actually got to leave home holding one such award: he won Best Lead Actor – TV Drama for his role in “House of Cards.”

His acceptance speech, as expected, was something worthy of his talent and wicked sense of humor, as you can see in the video below.

Much fuss has already been made online, especially on social media, about the fact that he dropped an F-bomb smack in the middle of his speech, as if he were “testing” NBC censors. In the video from VH1, you can see that they were either not paying attention or not caring that much about profanity.

However, what stands out about his speech is the fact that he started it in character, saying that “this is the beginning of my revenge.” He got serious shortly afterwards, thanking his peers for his amazing and long career, and promising all those who have and will continue to support him even more solid acting performances.

“I stand here tonight as someone who has enjoyed such an extraordinary career, in large measure because of the people in this room,” he said. “I just want to be better. I just want to be better, but this is very encouraging. Thank you very much.”

Spacey made sure to wrap it up before his emotions got the best of him.
