14 DAY TRIAL // Since its two leads, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan were in attendance at the Golden Globes 2015 last night, Universal Pictures also secured a spot for a new extended trailer for their upcoming film “Fifty Shades of Grey,” to air during one of the commercial breaks.
You will find it embedded in full below, but please don’t let the “extended” part trick you into expecting a brand new trailer, hopefully with more footage.
This is the same trailer we’ve already seen a few times, but it includes a few more shots, of Anastasia Steele (Johnson) meeting Christian Grey’s (Dornan) family. There are also a couple of shots that I don’t remember seeing before, of the two exchanging longing glances and one in Grey’s kitchen, when he realizes he is deeply and irremediably in love with her.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” is based on the first novel in the trilogy “Fifty Shades” by E.L. James, which she started writing as adult “Twilight” fanfiction. The first film should overlap the first novel, with two more installments to come later: “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.”
The appeal of the book, which has been dubbed by critics the worst piece of literature ever put on paper, lies in the fact that it depicts a dysfunctional love story between a virgin (Anastasia) and an experienced and very rich young man who practices BDSM.
The film will be out on Valentine’s Day this year.
