“A lifelong goal… that’s all I’m saying,” actor jokes

On stage at the Golden Globes 2015, hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who had returned to the show for the third and last time, played a little game of “Who would you rather?” to explain why their friendship had lasted for so many years: they had completely different tastes in men.

This game was one of the funniest jokes of the night and it seems to have created a precedent for cases in which more celebrities will be talking in public about their equally famous crushes.

Access Hollywood caught up with Billy Bob Thornton backstage at the Globes, after he won Best Actor in a TV Miniseries or Movie for “Fargo,” and he accepted to play the game for a while. He even carried the joke throughout the entire interview, after they were done playing it.

Asked who he would rather between Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Keira Knightley, he picked Aniston, saying she was “a lifelong goal… that’s all I’m saying.” He also joked that, after the ceremony, he would be taking her out for lettuce wraps, because they both had so many allergies it was the only thing safe for them to eat.

Fun fact: before she worked with Brad Pitt on “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” and then went to date him and start a family with him, Angelina Jolie was married to Billy, and they had one of the weirdest, most mediated relationships at the time, which included admitting on camera to trysts in the limo on their way to red carpets and wearing vials with the other’s blood around their neck.

Jennifer Aniston’s name was there for a reason, and it’s actually funny seeing Billy catch on and play along. Because, ultimately, he’s the coolest cat around.
