Excitement is taking over Hollywood, as the clock is ticking on the debut of the 72nd annual Golden Globes awards show, which will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015, in Los Angeles, and air live on NBC. With the full list of presenters confirmed and insiders spilling the beans to the media, we already know we’re in for a star-studded, fun-filled night.

George Clooney will be awarded the Cecil B. DeMille award for lifetime achievements, and he will be presented with it by “The Good Wife” star Julianne Margulies, who also happened to star with him in “ER” back in the day when the show was the biggest thing on television.

A-list presenters

Other presenters will include anyone who’s anyone in film and TV, from Clooney himself to Oprah, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jennifer Aniston, Katie Holmes, Jared Leto, Sienna Miller, Robert Downey Jr., Melissa McCarthy, Ricky Gervais, Harrison Ford, Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Lopez, Paul Rudd and David Duchovny. And that’s not even the entire list!

Whoever has an interest, direct or otherwise, in the ongoing Oscars campaign will be there in the audience or on stage. Who doesn’t have an interest will be there to promote a new film or TV show, so that pretty much means that the crème de la crème will be there.

The Wrap says that Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett will not present, and there’s talk that the former won’t even attend. Since he doesn’t have a movie in the running or coming out, that makes sense – but the Internet would definitely love it if he could find it in his heart to leave his yacht-full of models for just one night.

Plenty of surprises

The same publication says that the show will run for a little over 3 hours and will be made of 15 acts separated by commercial breaks. Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be in 8 of those, including the opening skit that will run for 9 full minutes.

“That’ll make it the second-longest individual segment on the show,” The Wrap notes. And it’s only natural that it be so, since these two have hosted the Globes before, both times to amazing results in terms of reception and ratings.

There will also be surprise presenters and surprises within the show, the same media outlet says, refusing to disclose them. They wouldn’t be a surprise otherwise.

All in all, we’re in for a fun night.
