At last night’s Golden Globes 2013, presenters Salma Hayek and Paul Rudd were the protagonists of one of the most awkward moments of the night and, even worse, it was not even intentional.

Check out the video below to see what happened.

The two were on stage to present the award for Best Actor in a TV Series, when, after cracking a joke that almost no one laughed at, the two realized the teleprompter had failed to roll.

“They drink, they do drugs, they like they have a huge ego, and they are not to be trusted,” Salma said of the nominees in the category.

“But uh, that’s just their agents,” Paul chimed in.

And then there was silence – followed by even more silence, as the two kept waiting for their next line to come up.

When that didn’t happen, the always cute and funny Rudd took to improvising to save face, but to somewhat moderate success.

Luckily, the video with the nominees kicked in, and the two were spared further awkwardness. Just in the nick of time.
