Tina Fey and Amy Poehler explain why they’re eager to be hosting the awards show

You can almost tell, the Golden Globes will be extremely fun this year. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are the designated hosts for the evening and, in their brand new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, they explain why they agreed to the gig.

In short: it was for the booze, for the food and for the fun they know for a fact they’re going to have.

“When you get a bunch of people in a room who don’t eat much, and you give them one drink, it gets good fast,” Tina says for the publication.

Known as the younger, less pretentious and way cooler sibling of the Oscars, the Globes were never ones to make a fuss about decorum or modesty even though the same A-listers and industry people attend both events.

This alone should explain why Fey and Poehler are perfect for the job: they’re irreverent and shameless, but they can do witty and smart at the same time.

The 2013 Globes will take place this Sunday. The hosts’ full interview is here.
