14 DAY TRIAL // At Sunday's Golden Globes 2012 ceremony, just as she was about to walk the red carpet, Sarah Hyland the young “Modern Family” star, had a near-fashion disaster when the zipper on her vintage Dolce & Gabbana dress “exploded.”
The video below is of the 21-year-old actress telling E! tashion correspondent Giuliana Rancic what exactly happened.
“Well I was just standing there waiting to come up here, and I just kinda felt like an explosion in my back,” the young star recalled, barely containing her amusement at how awkward the incident could have been.
“And I was kinda just like, 'what happened!' And I felt my back and I felt bare back,” she said, adding that she reached out and grabbed the dress “before it was too late.”
Luckily, there were people on hand ready for this kind of unforeseen situations, and they swiftly intervened and fixed the damage on the star's vintage dress.
In fact, they did such a good job that she even joked that “I'm now sewn in into the dress,” prompting another joke from Giuliana, who said “I think you used my sewing kit.”
On the same light note, Sarah joked that she had probably eaten too much McDonalds before the awards show, though she did mention that she'd tried to curb all cravings the day before the awards show, precisely to prevent such mishaps from taking place.
Even so, she told Giuliana she was thrilled to be there, fashion mishaps or no fashion mishaps.
While this particular incident was prevented just in the nick of time, not the same can be said for model Erin Wasson, who was a walking and breathing fashion faux pas.
The model, who also boasts of being a designer, walked the red carpet at one of the Golden Globes afterparty in something that resembled something a kid would make for her doll, complete with a see-through top and shredded skirt.
For looking incredibly inappropriate for such a ceremony (or any other public outing in general) and for leaving so little to the imagination with her outfit, Wasson was deemed the worst dressed celebrity of the night.
