Konami of Europe's UK division has announced a new competition linked to its popular online quiz game "Going for Goal", part of its ongoing promotion of the best-selling Pro Evolution Soccer 5 video game.

Launched to coincide with the PlayStation 2, PC-DVD, Xbox and PSP versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 in November, "Going for Goal" is a web-based game designed to test the user's knowledge of football trivia as they attempt to score goals against a strict time limit.

Incentive to play has now been added in the form of a very rare white PSP handheld system and a copy of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 for the format. "Going for Goal" players can register to win this coveted prize, with the competition closing at the end of January, while the site will continue until March. Konami has also updated the music used on the site, with Trick V Freemasons' Zap Me Lovely (The Nokia Tune) appearing courtesy of Loaded Records.

"Going for Goal has proved immensely popular, so we felt it was time to add a further challenge from the trivia buffs out there", commented Jon Murphy, UK PR and Marketing Manager for Konami of Europe. "A white PSP is the perfect carrot to dangle in front of the competitive people who keep returning to try their luck, and look forward to seeing who emerges as top dog."
