This is what fans have been waiting for. Unlike the previous Hollywood remake of the Godzilla franchise, this version isn't keeping the appearance of the main character a secret, only to be revealed to viewers in cinemas.

Godzilla is presented in all its glory in a short teaser clip that also features Ken Watanabe's character Dr. Ishiro Serizawa, who gives an explanation why Godzilla has returned from under the ocean. It apparently plays the role of an Earth defender, as humanity is on the brink of extinction due to some large winged creatures that can't be stopped with conventional weaponry.

Also appearing in the teaser, towards the end, is Elizabeth Olsen's character, Elle Brody, as she runs away from one such winged monster, before getting a full-size view of Godzilla, roaring from behind some skyscrapers.

The promotional campaign for Gareth Edward's version of “Godzilla” has been masterfully done, offering more and more revealing shots of the monster in a gradual progression, that started out with just hints of his outline in posters and in film footage and has ended up with the complete version in all its glory, looking very similar to the original creature in the old Japanese films.

Purists won't be able to complain about this one. “Godzilla” will be stomping its way into theaters on May 15, 2014.
