Are you into music? Like hanging out with your friends in your dad's garage dreaming to become stars? If so, why don't you also do it on your Mac? Who knows, maybe you'll learn a few more tricks too. Positech's Kudos: Rock Legend allows you to build up your own career as a rock star, and spend time on songwriting, rehearsals, events, auditions, publicity, practicing individual instruments, and of course, recording an album. You and your band also get to chill at the spa, or at a local bar. Not too much though, you don't want to disappoint the fans. A demo is already available for Kudos: Rock Legend.

The Mac-exclusive title combines RPG, life-sim and Tycoon game elements, but it is mostly a turn-based game which has players deciding how the band spends their time. Naturally, you will begin as a starving garage-band. You're the lead singer. However, at this point you're the only existing band member. As such, you will need to choose your band-members, based on criteria such as personality and songwriting expertise.

Players also have to choose the band name. After that, you can start writing the songs and even play gigs. Remember that Kudos: Rock Legend is a turn-based game. Each turn of the game represents a single day, so be careful how much time you spend in front of the TV (budget chillin'), at the bar or at the spa (costly chillin').

According to the developer, the game has sophisticated AI that controls your band members and decides how motivated, energetic and happy they are. Sophisticated AI is required for this simple task? Huh...!

For instance, if you work the band too hard, the members will resign. The same goes for not providing the band with the lifestyle they need. Say, the guitarist wants to go to the expensive spa twice a week. Knowing that she has a kick-ass strum, you'd better grant her wish. Arranging poorly-attended gigs is also something you want to avoid.

So basically, you're both the lead singer and the manager of your band within Kudos: Rock Legend. Click here and see if there's something you may have overlooked in trying to get yourself and your friends on stage.
