Portability is an extremely important concept in technological design nowadays, since an increasingly higher number of customers demand products that can be carried around anywhere, while still being able to provide the same level of functionality as their less-portable counterparts. And in the spirit of this concept, the InFocus company has just announced its WorkBig IN12 ultra-mobile projector, a device that, despite being quite lightweight and portable, can really deliver a "projecting punch" wherever the user might decide to set it up.

The main selling point of the IN12 is, obviously, its portability. Thus, the projector measures just around 19.81 cm x 26.92 cm x 4.32 cm, at a weight of around 1.77 kilograms, which indeed makes it one of the most portable such devices on the market. The device also has quite a high brightness output, of around 2000 ANSI lumens, as well as an 1800:1 contrast ratio and uses DLP technology from Texas Instruments. Moreover, it provides an XGA resolution, a filter-free design, a wide-angle 2X zoom lens and a very important motorized micro-adjustable focus.

Another interesting thing worth mentioning about the ultra-slim IN12 notebook projector is the fact that it provides quite a high level of projecting versatility, as it supports both front and rear projection. Moreover, the automatic keystone correction provides very good quality images, without the need for manual adjustment as the presenter moves from venue to venue. The integrated XGA native resolution also displays media-rich presentations, including automatic scaling for 16:9 video and true HD sources.

"With the announcement of the Work Big IN12, InFocus adds to an already impressive line of mobile projectors weighing less than four pounds," said InFocus Senior Director of Product Management, David Woolf. "We are excited to continue enhancing our mobile portfolio with new products that meet the unique needs of the global business professional on the go."

The new ultra-mobile projector from InFocus will be available for consumers later on this month at a MSRP of around $1,249, which is not exactly an "out of this world" price tag, considering the numerous features this thing has to offer.
