Gmail is the mail solution provided by Google that was meant to represent a new idea in the mail services currently available because it offered 1GB of free mail storage size. Although it was improved several times with increased size, new functions or interoperability with other applications, Gmail is still in beta stages and is available only by invitation. The company currently offers 100 invitations to each user, so it is quite easy to register for the mail service.

Some time ago, Google revealed a new innovative function entitled Mail Fetcher that was meant to make Gmail a real POP3 client because it allows you to add up to 5 mail accounts to retrieve mail directly into the interface of the Google service. So, it's obvious that Gmail is a real success, attracting new users every day and with millions of clients already registered.

Although the mail service is quite attracting, it seems like its security is not as efficient as said, Gmail being affected by multiple flaws that made users' information vulnerable to attackers.

Recently, a lot of users reported that their mail messages were deleted from their inbox, Google confirming the complaint and saying the employees already repaired the issue.

This time, several users are continuously posting on a special topic on Google Groups that their Gchat contacts, as well as saved e-mail addresses were removed from the Gmail account. At this time, numerous users from all around the world posted on the Groups discussion so it's clear that the issue doesn't depend on the region your account is accessed from. Some of the affected clients of Gmail already sent feedback messages to the company, hoping that Google owns a database with backups for all the victims of this potential bug.

The company didn't post any official response to the complaints, but its employees are probably investigating the issue so we should expect a fix soon.
