In collaboration with Activision

Glu Mobile and Activision, two of America's best-known companies when it comes to gaming, have announced the future availability of Call of Duty: World at War for mobile phones. The game will be based on Activision's original Call of Duty: World at War, the fifth from the popular first-shooter series.

Unfortunately, Glu says nothing about how the mobile version of World at War will be. But since it can't bee too different from the non-mobile ones, its action will most probably be set in the Eastern front and the Pacific theater of Word War II. Besides this, the mobile CoD should also bring the same intensity and action that the previous games from the series have used us with.

"We're excited to extend our partnership with Activision and bring Call of Duty: World at War to mobile gamers worldwide. The Call of Duty franchise has been a great addition to Glu's portfolio of award-winning games, and we look forward to the continued success it will bring to the action category," declared Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing at Glu, in a press release appeared on the American publisher's official website.

Dave Anderson, senior director, business development, Activision Publishing, Inc., added: "Glu has solid studio capabilities and carrier relationships around the world, and is well-positioned to continue to bring the Call of Duty experience to mobile consumers."

Besides coming to mobile phones, the new CoD will also be released for all the other important platforms, namely PC, PlayStaion 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Most probably, Call of Duty: World at War for mobiles will be the last one to be released, as the game was firstly created for the other platforms. Even so, we can hope the new title will hit mobile phones before the end of 2008.
