The scientists say the sheep behave just like run-off-the-mill ones

The greatest thing about being a scientist is that, every once in a while, you get to perform rather odd experiments just for the fun of it.

Thus, a team of scientists in Uruguay are said to have created glow-in-the-dark sheep not because of medical reasons or interests, but because they thought it would be kind of cool to do so.

According to The Examiner, these sheep were born back in October 2012 at the Animal Reproduction Institute of Uruguay. When born, the sheep were no different to others of their kind.

However, the researchers injected them with a protein taken from jellyfish. This procedure translated into the sheep's glowing a green color whenever exposed to UV light.

The researchers wish to reassure the public that, despite their displaying this peculiarity, the sheep find themselves in perfectly good health and do not behave in any abnormal ways.
