Newly redesigned marketing organization gets Michael Noonen as senior VP

Globalfoundries has reorganized its global sales and marketing division, as well as the customer engineering and quality functions, so it needed someone to lead the new section.

Full-service semiconductor foundry Globalfoundries has just issued a press release in which it announces that Michael Noonen has joined the ranks of its executives.

The man will assume leadership of the new Worldwide Sales and Marketing Organization.

While reporting directly to CEO Ajit Manocha, he will lead what used to be the team handling global Sales and Marketing, as well as the Customer Engineering and Quality division.

Prior to this newfound post, Noonen was executive vice president of sales and marketing at NXP Semiconductor.

There, he was part of the executive management team between 2008 and 2011.

Also, prior to his tenure at NXP, Michael Noonen served at National Semiconductor from 2001 to 2008.

Between 2001 and 2005, he was the leader of the Interface, Networking and Computing Businesses, while the 2005-2008 period had him acting as head of the worldwide sales and marketing side.

For those interested in more background info, Noonen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University, along with multiple internet telephony and video communications patents.

Finally, he held leading positions with Cisco, 8x8 and NCS as well.
