Since all the new CPUs launched recently have been practically asking, in their own way, for newer and better cooling solutions, considering the rapidly approaching summer season, of course, the response from the collective of cooling developers has been swift and decisive and, now, no processors need worry about sweating during the long, hot days of July. Now, eager to join the fray and grab the attention of the value market, GlacialTech has unveiled its own offer.

The new CPU cooling module that the company is preparing is known as the Igloo 5760 and brings the complete look and feel of an icy environment to any system. Measuring 96 (W) x 128 (L) x 90 (H) mm and weighing 350 grams, the product is made up of a 92mm fan and a, more or less, low-profile, aluminum heatsink, which receives the heat from the chip via three copper heatpipes.

The 92mm spinner is a bullet axial fan and it has a rotary speed between 800 and 2,000RPM (rotations per minute) and a maximum sound output of 27dB. Also, the heatsink itself is set horizontally above the chip, which means that the “added blow down effect also cools down the heat sink directly above the CPU.” As for the range of processors supported, the cooling solution is compatible with enough models to make it widely usable in most consumer desktops.

“The IGLOO 5760 Multiple Platforms CPU Cooler is the next step in the evolution to an ultimate light weight, low cost CPU cooler for the system and gives more efficiency than competing products enthusiast PC platform,” the press release states.

For those interested in specifics, the GlacialTech Igloo 5760 is compatible with LGA 775, LGA 1156 and LGA 1366 Intel chips and can also disperse the heat generated by socket AmM2, AM2+ and AM3 processors from Advanced Micro Devices. The component should start selling soon, at a price of only 17 Euro, which is quite small compared with that of most competitors.
