A couple of roommates from New York have seen a photo of them pop up on Reddit after using the subway to transport a couch.

They had bought an inexpensive couch from Film Biz Recycling because they couldn't afford a bed. This particular item went by the name “Carl the Comfy Couch.”

Couch owner Ty tells Gothamist that they couldn't afford a moving truck either, and they had to carry it onto the subway and get it out on their Bedford-Nostrand stop.

They thought that other passengers on the G train would take this opportunity to mock them, and they were surprised to see how well they responded.

"Pretty much everyone on the train helped us get it up to the surface, and then we just had to wheel it 6 blocks. I was really happy that so many people were helping us!" Ty says.
