14 DAY TRIAL // Ever since the Brit Awards 2010, the tabloids have been having a field day with Simon Cowell’s so-called engagement. “Sources” close to the music mogul confirmed the happy news for several media outlets but nothing even close to official went to print. Until just now, when his fiancée, Mezhgan Hussainy herself, confirms for Radar Online that the American Idol judge has popped the big question.
“It’s official. Simon Cowell is getting married! Beautiful Mezhgan Hussainy told Radar Online exclusively that she and Simon are officially engaged. Until now, there have been only whispers and rumors about the couple possibly getting married – but their plans have been a secret. But, gorgeous brunette Mezhgan told Radar Online executive vice president David Perel that indeed, she and Simon are getting married,” Radar writes.
The couple have not yet set a wedding date but the aforementioned e-zine hints that the ceremony might take place sometime soon, saying that whoever is lucky enough to get an invite should perhaps not put off buying a wedding present for much longer. The confirmation comes on the heels of Simon himself dropping some serious hints during a recent interview about his plans of settling down with the makeup artist, of whom he even says she looks to be “the one.”
“Sporting a beautiful sparkling engagement ring, Mezhgan was all smiles as she told Radar Online exclusively that the couple, who are living together, are officially engaged. They met on American Idol several years ago and what began as friendship grew into love after Simon’s previous relationship ended. And the wedding date? Well, we promised we wouldn’t give everything away, but let’s just say don’t put off shopping for their wedding gift too long. After all, Simon is a man of action, as his stunning decision to leave American Idol and bring X-Factor to America proves,” Radar writes.
The “beautiful sparkling ring” on Mezhgan’s finger is also the one that got tongues wagging in the first place, as she first wore it in public at the Brit Awards. Since nothing escapes the paparazzi’s eye (and professional camera), it was believed Simon proposed that weekend.
