14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese company Gionee was rumored to launch its Elife S7 high-end smartphone in India for quite some time now. Beginning this week, Android fans looking for a decently priced smartphone will be able to purchase the Elife S7 in black, white, blue and pink.
In order to get the smartphone, customers will have to come up with Rs 24,999 outright, which is about $400 or €365. Keep in mind that Elife S7 will be available through major retailers across India in the next couple of days.
Gionee Elife S7 was unveiled back in February at Mobile World Congress 2015 trade fair, and the Chinese company promised that the smartphone would go on sale this spring.
The handset ships with Amigo 3.0 OS which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. When it comes to specs, Gionee Elife S7 is equipped with more than decent hardware such as a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.
The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch SuperAMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It also packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).
Corning Gorilla Glass covered body and NXP audio technology
The Elife S7 is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and back, while the frame on the side is made from a magnesium alloy. It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone is only 5.5mm thin.
On the back, Gionee's high-end smartphone features a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary no-less-impressive 8-megapixel camera for video calls and great selfies.
Connectivity-wise, the Elife S7 offers a wide range of options, including dual-SIM, 4G LTE, microUSB 2.0, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with AGPS.
Gionee Elife S7 is powered by a 2,750 mAh battery, which is said to provide up to 32% more juice than any other previous smartphone launched by the Chinese company.
