The Chinese company Gionee plans to launch another high-end Android smartphone very soon, the Elife E8. The device was leaked online several times, so we know quite a bit of information regarding the phone's specs sheet.

However, we don't know anything about pricing options and availability. The good news is the folks over at GizChina have it from sources well informed that Gionee Elife E8 will be officially unveiled in China on June 10.

It looks like there will be a pretty busy week in China, as Meizu is expected to announce its M1 Note 2 phablet, while Huawei is said to prepare for the unveiling of Honor 7.

Gionee seems to be last Chinese OEM of the ones mentioned that will introduce a new smartphone. For the time being, it's unclear exactly when the smartphone will go on sale and for how much.

The Elife E8 should be released outside China

We also don't know where it will be available besides China. Gionee usually launches some of its smartphones in India as well, but we have yet to confirm the Elife E8 will arrive in other countries.

Moving on to specs, according to the latest leaks, Gionee Elife E8 should boast a huge 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Hardware-wise, the Elife E8 will be equipped with a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor inside, along with a PowerVR G6200 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

The phablet will also come with 32GB of internal memory, but there's no mention of microSD card slot for storage expansion yet.

Another strong point of the high-end smartphone is the 23-megapixel camera that can shoot 100MP resolution images. The Elife E8 also features a no-less-impressive 8-megapixel camera in the front for great selfies.

It's also worth mentioning that the phablet will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with Amigo 3.0 UI on top.
