14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese OEM Gionee has just confirmed that it will introduce its latest flagship smartphone, the Elife E7 in India on December 24. It’s unclear whether or not the handset will go on sale on the same date or some online retailers will be able to bring it a bit earlier in India.
Anyway, fonearena reports that Gionee has already started to send invitations for the Elife E7 launch event in India, which is confirmed to take place on December 24.
Gionee Elife E7 was launched in China back in November and seems to be the most powerful smartphone announced by the Chinese company to date.
The bad news is that the device will ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box with Amigo 2.0 UI on top. There’s a small chance that the smartphone will receive a major upgrade in the future, but I wouldn’t count on it.
However, the phone’s strong point is the stunning 5.5-inch IPS full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display that integrates One Glass Solution technology from JDI. It also features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating for extra protection.
Hardware-wise, the Gionee Elife E7 is a beast that will make lots of victims among Android fans. It comes equipped with a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.
Gionee has announced it will sell two Elife E7 variants, but it’s unclear if both 16GB and 32GB models will be available in India later this year. Either way, users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.
Keep in mind though that the 32GB model comes packed with no less than 3GB of RAM, so it will be much more expensive than the 16GB version.
Another selling point of Elife E7 is the enhanced 16-megapixel main camera on the back, which features LED flash, Sapphire lens and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also an 8-megapixel camera in the front.
Other highlights of the phone include 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, 3 mics for noise cancellation, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio and 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery.
