It appears that Gigabyte is continuing with its tactic of offering products for a whole bunch of different market segments, in this case that of peripherals, the wireless peripheral market in particular.

Gigabyte may have shown off various PCs and motherboards during Computex, but it looks like the outfit hasn't forgotten about all other business outlets.

Among other things, it recently showed off a new PC case, while an even more recent move on its part brought forth a new mouse.

Unlike Logitech, whose recent announcement was of a sort of reincarnation of one of its most prominent mice, Gigabyte's model is altogether new.

The dubbed ECO500, it is a wireless product which combines high responsiveness with wireless support and a long battery life.

In order to communicate to a PC, once the USB receiver is plugged inside the I/O port, the mouse is built with 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity.

It is this technology that allows one to fully leverage the 1,600 DPI laser sensor that Gigabyte built into the product. There is also a DPI switch, which lets one modify sensitivity settings at will.

Gigabyte took things further and implemented five programmable buttons, so that gamers can easily issue commands during games where fast user input is critical, such as real-time strategy and shooters.

That said, all the above, as well as two AAA batteries (which can last for up to 12 months) are packed inside a frame measuring 105 (L) x 59.7 (W) x 40.1 (H) mm.

The rubber grips on the sides make it easy to hold and move, while the starry-night black coating and shape, plus the LED, give it the necessary aesthetic value that gaming peripherals are expected to possess.

Unfortunately, while the product page of the Gigabyte EC)500 wireless gaming laser mouse does already exist, pricing details do not.
