Gigabyte, one of the leading manufacturers of computer hardware products and consumer electronics, recently announced that it would be joining the manufacturers that provide Intel P45-based motherboards. The company, which at the moment is in dispute with ASUSTek, has announced a new lineup of Intel P45 chipset based motherboards featuring all of the latest hardware technologies.

Based on Intel's latest high performance chipset, P45, Gigabyte's motherboards have been built to provide its users with high performance platforms, capable of supporting a 1600MHz Front Side Bus, for the latest Intel Core 2 multi-core processors. Gigabyte users will be happy to hear that they will be able to equip their desktop computer systems with the latest 45nm Penryn CPUs. These motherboards come in either dual channel DDR3 (up to 1900MHz, overclocked) or DDR2 (up to 1200MHz) variants.

Gigabyte's motherboards are expected to provide users with high levels of performance and a maximum overclocking potential. Gigabyte's P45-based motherboards will support ATI CrossFireX technology, allowing users to connect two high performance AMD graphics cards on two PCI Express 2.0 graphics lines.

Besides the high performance technical specifications, Gigabyte will also equip its mobos with its own technologies - Dynamic Energy Saver Advanced, Gigabyte's Ultra TPM, Smart Backup - Plug & Play Hardware RAID and a host of other features that not only maximize performance and energy efficiency, but also provide the highest levels of data security.

Gigabyte will also include the powerful Dolby Home Theater suite, which is said to deliver a high quality sound listening experience for music, movies and games.

One of the most significant features of Gigabyte's motherboards is the Dynamic Energy Saver Advanced, which is said to allow users to take advantage of energy saving without the use of the Dynamic Energy Saver Utility, for always-on, hardware based power savings. No word on pricing just yet but the mobos are expected to be available on the market soon.
