And by surprised we mean why does it bother when all CPUs have built-in GPUs now

We thought that we wouldn't be seeing any low-end graphics cards now that Intel's Sandy bridge and AMD's APUs have come into their own.

Imagine our surprise when we learned that Gigabyte had decided to create some cards of this type anyway.

There are two boards, one of them an NVIDIA unit and the other an AMD model.

The former is called GV-N440-1GI (based on GeForce GT 440), has 1 GB memory (DDR3 1600 MHz), a GPU clock of 810 MHz and shader clock of 1,620 MHz (CUDA cores).

The other product, GV-R645-1GI (Radeon DH 6450), has a 625 MHz GPU and 1 GB of DDR3 memory at 1,100 MHz.

Both products come with dual-link DVI, HDMI and D-Sub outputs and the prices are of $90 (67.50 Euro) and $55 (41.25 Euro), respectively.
