It also has a pretty large cooling fan, despite being one of the weakest in the line

AMD never intended for the Radeon R7 250 OC video card to be all that powerful, or heavily customized, but Gigabyte decided to play with it anyway, even though it's supposed to be a low-end model.

The result is the Radeon R7 250 OC, with a GPU clock of 1100 MHz for the Oland 28nm silicon, instead of 1050 MHz.

Not that big a leap, one might say, especially since the memory is left at 1.8 GHz (2 GB DDR3).

But even if the factory OC isn't massive, the cooling is a lot better than reference, thanks to the 100 mm fan and aluminum fin block. It is enough to drive heat much lower than on the normal board, despite the higher performance.

The price of the board will be of around $90 / €90. All in all, not bad for a card that doesn't need PCI Express 6-pin or 8-pin power inputs.
