During the CeBIT 2011 fair, that took place at the beginning of March, Gigabyte has showcased to the world a new Sandy Bridge motherboard that carried the P67X designation, and now the company seems to be getting ready to launch this new product line as the first P67X boards have made their appearance on the company's website.

The two motherboards are called the P67X-UD3 and P76X-UD3R and they both share a similar layout, although Gigabyte has decided to go with a different PCB color for the two solutions.

Starting with the P67X-UD3, this is based on the B3 revision of the Intel P67 Express chipset and bears an eerie resemblance with the P67A-UD3 board that Gigabyte launched at the beginning of the year.

However, there are some differences between the two, as the P67X model features a larger PCH heatsink, 90-degrees angled SATA ports, a FireWire controller as well as a Marvell 88SE9172 SATA 6Gbps RAID IC that drives an additional pair of SATA connectors.

Moving to the back of the card, we also find that the color of the available I/O ports has changed from black to red, and although the motherboard still features a pair of USB 3.0 ports (two more are available via an on-board header), these are now powered by Etron EJ168 USB 3.0 host controllers.

As mentioned earlier, the second motherboard in the P67X series is called the P76X-UD3R and this uses a black printed circuit board as well as an improved PWM design. This uses 10 phases, compared to the six available in the P67X-UD3, and Driver MOSFETs.

No details regarding pricing and availability have been disclosed by Gigabyte until now, but the two motherboards have made their way in quite a few online stores in the Asia-Pacific region. (via VR-Zone)
