Gigabyte O2 XDA Denim has been approved by the FCC some time ago, but has been under a confidentiality restriction which finally ended. All details on this new device are now available and looking promising.

Gigabyte O2 XDA Denim will work on Windows Mobile 6, which makes it one of the most evolved smartphones out there. Specifications reveal a truly powerful device, running on an Intel PXA270 520 MHz CPU and with 2100 Ghz UTMS. The phone is a tri-band GSM one, which is also capable of reaching high data transfer speeds through the HSDPA technology, one used in many high-end devices nowadays.

There is also 64MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM and also a microSD card slot for making sure that the user does not run out of personal data storage space. Connectivity is available through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, as well as EDGE, making a full package for bringing communication through a variety of means.

The 2 megapixel camera is the average performance that most smartphones bring, although it brings nothing more than unimpressive captures. This is a 3G-enabled device, which gives reason to the secondary VGA camera, meant to be used for placing video calls.

Gigabyte O2 XDA Denim has a 2.6 inch 65k color TFT LCD screen with touchpanel. The display can support a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, a fairly good one for watching videos and images on it at a high quality.

One drawback that this device has to bring is surely its sizes, as it comes at 115 x 55.8 x 18.2 mm and 150 grams. There are many smartphones out there capable of toping that performance, which gives them a slight head start. Still, Gigabyte O2 XDA Denim's dimensions come on account of its evolved features. Not being demanding, GPS would have been expected at such sizes.

Gigabyte O2 XDA Denim will be available at O2 in the near future, now that it has also received its FCC approval. There are low chances for it to hit other networks aside from this one.
