Mini computer enthusiasts will be glad to hear Gigabyte has launched a new square-shaped BRIX Gaming PC, which comes with a bright green shell.

This little gaming box offers a host of different configurable hardware options offered by Intel, which will cater to your particular set of needs.

As you might have guessed, the BRIZ Gaming is a bare-bone that arrives with a Wi-Fi Mini PCI module already installed, allowing users to choose their desired memory and storage format, suited to their particular set of needs.

“The Gigabyte BRIX Gaming is perfect showcase for Intel and NVIDIA’s exceptional technologies. It packs a high-performance, desktop-class processor and GPU that is highly suited to processor-intensive creative applications and 3D gaming titles,” said VP of Gigabyte Motherboard Business Unit, Henry Kao.

For the time being, users are invited to take advantage of the Intel Core i5 (Haswell) processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760, but Gigabyte promises that later this summer (in August to be more specific) it will launch the Intel Core i7 version too. There’s no word of an improved graphics card option, at the moment.

The machine is also capable to play nice to up to three displays and 4K. Like with many mini PC products, the BRIX has a VESA bracket that allows users to mount it up on any display they desire.

As for slots and ports, the BRIX arrives with an mSATA SSD slot, 2.5-inch SATA 3 drive bay, 2 DDR3L memory slots, 4 USB 3.0 ports, Gigabyte Ethernet, 2 HDMI ports and mini DisplayPort.

Gigabyte offers the device in vivid green (making it a bit reminiscent of Razer’s offerings), but if you’re not a fan of the color, you can also get it in black.

For the sake of comparison, we can tell you ZOTAC had a similar product launched just a month ago. The ZBOX EN760 arrived with an Intel i5-42000dual-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz, with burst speeds going as far as 2.6GHz.

However, the ZBOX took advantage of a more advanced GPU, from NVIDIA’s latest set of offerings – the GeForce GTX 860 card.

The box also offered two slots for DDR3L memory up to 16B, two 2.5-inch SSD/HDD, a slot for mSATA SSD, 4-in-1 card reader, four USB 3.0 ports and two Gigabyte Ethernet ports.

Sadly, we don’t have the pricing specifications of the Gigabyte BRIX Gaming to compare.
