Gigabyte is known for its many hardware components and PC products but it looks like it might start to make itself known for other things as well, such as a certain software known as Touch BIOS.

Hardware cannot function in absence of software, as the two have ever been two parts of the same whole.

Software comes in many versions, form the basic programs that can perform just one task at a time, or a fixed set, to complex ones, like operating systems, media players, analysis suites, etc.

Still, there is one type of software that, one might say, practically no electronic device with any measure of sophistication can exist without.

The BIOS, as it is called, is meant to keep a product running according to its maker's intention and acts as a basic building block in larger configurations.

For PCs, the BIOS is where various hardware configurations, overclocking operations and other things can be made.

Usually, one can only access it prior to the actual boot-up of the system OS, but there are, nowadays, programs which can tap into it from Windows.

Gigabyte figured it would take things a little further than usual, so it created a program that does this sort of thing while allowing users to employ more means of control.

Simply put, the Touch BIOS, as its name implies, lets one change BIOS settings from the OS through not just mouse clicks, but also touch.

Of course, the display will need to be equipped with a touch panel for this to be possible, but the fact remains that it should now be simpler than ever to modify hardware profiles and clock/voltage/fan speed/etc. settings at a basic level.

Upcoming Gigabyte motherboards, tablets, notebooks, all-in-one PCs and the like should all be bundled with this particular application from now on.
