The final reveal of the Ubisoft E3 2015 presentation is the fact that the company is working on a new Ghost Recon: Wildlands video game, which is designed to introduce an open world structure to the classic shooter, allowing gamers to pursue a wide array of targets all around the world.

The company states that a drug war in Bolivia is the starting point of the action, with a team of very highly-trained American military specialists working together to take out the infrastructure that gives the Santa Blanca cartel the capabilities it needs to move the drugs and then sell them.

The publisher claims Ghost Recon: Wildlands will move the game back to its roots, with the operatives having access to a range of items and weapons that the military forces of the United States actually use.

The reveal footage delivered during E3 2015 shows that there are at least three different ways to approach each situation, with the player able to use stealth to deal a lot of damage, but also having the option to choose ambushes or action-filled approaches if they feel that superior firepower is required.

The major new feature for Ghost Recon: Wildlands is that the entire world is open for exploration and gamers will have to deal with NPCs and with other environmental conditions as they prepare their operations.

Interactions will be a major part of the gameplay

In Ghost Recon: Wildlands, players will have to choose how they want to engage with local representatives, innocent civilians, rebels and military officials, all of whom have their own agenda.

Nouredine Abboud, a senior producer at Ubisoft, says that the new direction of the franchise is designed to appeal to a wide array of players.

He adds, "Whether going it alone or teaming up with friends in co-op, players in Ghost Recon Wildlands will never encounter the same situation twice, providing endless possibilities and creative freedom to cultivate very personal stories and experiences with the game."

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is at the moment in development for the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and the PC and does not have an official launch window.

Ubisoft says that studios in Paris, Annecy, Montpellier, Milan and Bucharest are involved in the development process, and Reflections is also working on the same project.
