The game is the biggest the company has created

Video game developer and publisher Ubisoft surprised a lot of its fans when it announced that it was working on a new Ghost Recon title, called Wildlands, at the end of its E3 2015 conference, rather than talking about a sequel for Watch Dogs.

It seems that the company is determined to offer an entirely new take on the series for fans, and the open world structure and the focus on real-world situations is just the start.

In an official site update, the team working on the video game explains that the world is bigger than for any other title created by Ubisoft and there are a lot of factions that make it feel alive, constantly interacting with each other, changing the situation in various actions and creating new problems for the player.

Ghost Recon Wildlands will also put player choice at the core of the Ghost Recon Wildlands, with gamers able to decide exactly how they want to approach each situation and the way the consequences of their actions will play out.

Dominic Butler, the lead game designer, states, "It’s not about us determining beforehand that this is a stealth mission, or this is the bit you have to escort the guy, or you have to do a full frontal assault.. It’s, here’s a situation; here’s a singular objective, and then it’s up to players how they want to do it. They write their own story."

Ghost Recon Wildlands will be focused on cooperative action

The entire experience is created to be played jointly by four players, each of them taking control of one type of operative, with each carefully mixing their skills and weapons in order to execute the missions.

Ghost Recon Wildlands will allow gamers to tackle the campaign solo, and the Artificial Intelligence partners are designed to be capable to execute a plan without a hitch.

Ubisoft says that the various factions in the open world can be manipulated by the player, presumably by their actions rather than a complex dialog system, and that getting them to fight each other can create tactical advantages but can also close down some missions.

Ghost Recon Wildlands will be offered on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 and does not have an official launch date.
