Getac is no stranger to rugged tablets, as the company has released a whole host of products targeting professionals working in risky conditions, in the past.

Now, as TabletManiak notes, the company has unveiled its newest tablet destined to accompany field workers in their daily activities.

Here is the Getac T800, an 8.1-inch tablet with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and brightness of 600 nits, a feat that will allow rugged professionals to work in any lightning conditions in outdoor environments.

Getac offers a choice between Windows 8.1 and 7 as operating system and customers can even pair the device with a digiziter.

The tablet comes with a webcam in front and there’s the option of adding a second 5MP webcam with autofocus and LED flash.

Being a rugged device, the T800 comes equipped with 1D/2D barcode reader, microSD or Ethernet connection. Getac says the battery should be enough to provide users with 8 hours of juice.

The tablet is IP65 certified which means it can survive being hit by a jet of water from any direction and is dust-proof. Furthermore, a fall from up to 1.8 m / 5.9 ft shouldn't pose a threat to the well-being of the T800, either.

Getac will offer a bunch of additional accessories for the slate, including a docking station, belts, suspenders, bags and external battery chargers. No word on the pricing just yet.
