Paradox Interactive has announced that it plans to publish an expansion for Majesty 2 in the first quarter of 2010. The fresh content will be called Kingmaker and will allow players to tackle a whole new campaign, titled Return of Grum-Gog, and experience enhanced gameplay. The expansion will be offered through digital download services like Impulse or GamersGate and will cost 19.99 dollars and the same amount of Euros.

The fresh single player campaign will feature a new villain, Lord Blackviper, who leads an army of goblins and other monsters that are threatening the peace of Ardania.

There will be eight missions during which the gamer will need to employ their heroes carefully in order to roll back the veil of darkness and to liberate the kingdom. As the release date nears, Paradox Interactive will offer more details. The community of players who enjoy Majesty 2 is interested in getting a more capable Artificial Intelligence alongside more heroes and magic capabilities.

The concept that powers the Majesty series is pretty unique in the world of real-time strategy titles. Players do not have direct control over the heroes present in the scenario. Instead, they need to use monetary and material rewards in order to get them to perform tasks like taking on the more powerful enemies, those who have a chance of actually killing them. It can be frustrating at times but also creates a unique sense of being in charge without effectively being in control.

Paradox Interactive is currently holding its 2010 convention. The company has announced that it will be publishing Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943, a game that will focus on one of the toughest battles of the Russian front of World War II, while also revealing that the 1.4 patch for Hearts of Iron III is set to go into public beta in early February.
