Halo 3: ODST is without doubt one of the biggest video-game releases of the fall. What began at Bungie as only a small add-on for the best selling Master Chief-featuring title has developed into a full-blown release, offering new content in both the single-player and the multiplayer areas. And, if you play your cards right, you can also get a Halo-themed action figure with Halo 3: ODST to keep at eye level while playing the game.

The enticing offer comes courtesy of Toys R Us, which is really pushing its video-game sales business. If you go and pick Halo 3: ODST up at one of its stores before the date of September 26, then you will also get the action figure, which you can take a sneak peek at in the image attached to this article. Moreover, you can also get a gift card for Toys R Us, which is valued at 20 dollars.

The move is probably designed to attract more gamers into stores during this fall, when retail sales might be affected by the economic downturn, but they will also benefit, as will Microsoft, which will get to sell more copies of its title.

Halo 3: ODST tells the story of a squad of Orbital Drops Shock Troopers who fight the Covenant in New Mombassa in the time frame between Halo 2 and 3. By concentrating on the weaker Helljumpers, Bungie has managed to make things that are pretty familiar to fans of the series seem fresh again.

Because the players have limited firepower and need to make sure they take less damage, fighting the various enemies becomes much more tactical and a little more planning is required. When it comes to multiplayer, Halo 3: ODST is offering the all-new Firefight mode, in which gamers need to cooperate in order to take out wave after wave of Covenant forces.
