Through the RSS feeds

YouTube debuted today a new area meant to attract developers, offering them a powerful API interface and several RSS feeds. The parent company Google created a special page for the YouTube developers, providing instant access to search results, video information and important user details. "For any developers new to the API, I encourage you to visit the YouTube developer homepage. There, you'll be able to sign up and gain access to YouTube's search results, video details, user details and more for your application or website. We hope the developer community will help us bring YouTube videos to even more people on the web," Stephanie from the YouTube team sustained today.

If you want to find out more information about this new YouTube page, you can visit a new forum created by Google and hosted by Google Groups. The RSS feeds promoted by the Mountain View company were introduced a long time ago, but they are now available even to the developers that might contribute to the YouTube evolution. Using the feeds, you're able to receive certain YouTube clips straight on your desktop with an RSS client.

As far I can see, the search giant wants to use the same techniques as for many other Google products that allowed developers to get involved into the evolution of the services. At this time, Google also owns Google Code, a special solution built by the company that offers valuable resources to the developers and helps them create their own products.

However, the most exploited service remains Google Maps because numerous users from all over the world created their own mash-ups based on the search giant's solution. Recently, the company introduced My Maps, a special function that goes even further and enables developers to design their own maps, store them into their Google accounts and share them to other visitors using a simple link.
