Dare to Be Creative, a prominent developer of Mac OS X software, and MacBuzzer, have announced a promotion where participants are offered free copies of Rucksack, a powerful archiving tool for Mac OS X. The initiative celebrates the launch of Rucksack, which is a completely revamped version of the former iArchiver, developed by Dare to Be Creative. The process of getting a free serial number to use with Rucksack is fairly simple, as long as participants have a valid Twitter account.

"Rucksack is a must-have tool for anyone working with archives," Dare to Be Creative explains. "Open all popular archive formats including RAR, StuffIt, 7Zip, and of course Zip. Safely backup your files with Rucksacks built-in encryption support. And convert easily between archive formats, such as from RAR to Zip."

The announcement was made via an email sent out to those who previously obtained MainMenu via MUPromo in December 2009. However, everyone can participate, as long as they have a valid email address and Twitter account. There are four short steps to take before Dare to Be Creative sends the activation code over to your email address.

"It's easy: just help us spread the word about MacBuzzer and The Big Bang," the company explains. "Visit the MacBuzzer webpage now and follow four simple steps to receive your Rucksack license in a few minutes." The steps are:

1 - Log into your twitter account or create a new one if you do not already have one 2 - In your Twitter account, click the "Follow" button on top to follow "themacbuzzer" on Twitter 3 - Click on a link to tweet about Macbuzzer; on your twitter account click "Tweet" to tweet this message 4 - Enter your email address when prompted and check your email (including spam folder) for the Rucksack activation key (be sure to tick the "signup for newsletter" checkbox)

You can start by downloading Rucksack here on Softpedia (download link below). The Universal Binary program regularly costs $29, making this the perfect opportunity to nab yourself a copy of the software.
