With the first game of the series being released in 1983 and the second winning the "Best PC Game Strategy" in 2005, Supreme Ruler 2020, the third game coming from Paradox Interactive, is already expected like a game that will rock again its genre. Everything will most likely happen in the second quarter of 2008 and it has a suggested retail price of $39.99. The game is being developed by BattleGoat Studios.

The game will be, like the first two in the series, a complex and in-depth strategy title that will combine Political, Diplomatic, Economic and Military Strategy elements to immerse players in the ultimate geo-political wargame/simulation. It will actually be an improved Supreme Ruler 2010 and yes, it still looks like the game in the Civilization series.

David Thompson, Lead Designer of BattleGoat Studios commented: "We've taken a look at all the suggestions that have been made to us from the first game and are taking Supreme Ruler to the next level. Every aspect of the game will be improved in some manner. I'm especially excited about the Sandbox mode that will let players focus on the aspects of the game they like best, allowing them to play against the entire World with customizable victory conditions, opponents, difficulty settings and much more!"

In other words, this means that the game will come with new, as well as improved features like hundreds of actual military vehicles to research, build and deploy, the option to choose conventional warfare or build a nuclear weapon program. Players will be able to control one of more than 250 regions worldwide within a high resolution world map built upon images from NASA but, if you want to improve the things you see, there is a map editor available, too. The game has multiplayer support, too, as well as the Sandbox mode which will add to this game's longevity.
